Arsenal FC of Pennsylvania is proud to announce an exclusive partnership with West Ham United Football Club of the English Championship League. Under the partnership, Arsenal FC will be the official West Ham United Academy Partner Club in Western Pennsylvania, a first of its kind in this area. In a statement from Arsenal FC, Directors of Coaching, Dan Brower and James Meara, said: ‘For the club to be selected to partner with one of the world’s top soccer academies is an unbelievable honor, cementing the belief that, from top to bottom, Arsenal FC is one of the elite youth clubs in Western PA.’ Mike Kelleher, the Partnership Development Manager in the United States for the West Ham United Academy International, will make the official announcement of the partnership on March 1, 2010.

West Ham United Football Club is a professional club in England's Second Division. West Ham United's Academy has an almost unrivaled reputation in world soccer as a developer of footballers of the highest level. In recent years, the likes of full England National Team players Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Jermain Defoe and Glen Johnson have all graduated from the Academy. West Ham United's professional roster currently has five England U21 Internationals, who are also graduates of the Academy.

The partnership with West Ham United will include the following list of opportunities for soccer players, coaches and families at Arsenal FC:
    • All Arsenal FC teams will wear the official West Ham United Academy Partner badge on the sleeves of their uniforms.
    • Every year, Arsenal FC will host a regional West Ham United International Academy Elite Player ID Camp, exclusively for Arsenal FC players. All players and coaches will be equipped with West Ham United official training apparel for the camp. A representative from West Ham United will oversee the regional camp and may select players to attend the National ID Camp, giving Arsenal FC players the chance to compete against players from other West Ham United Affiliate clubs
    • The National ID camp will be hosted by West Ham United and their entire Youth Academy staff from England, led by Tony Carr. Mr. Carr has been the Head of the Academy for West Ham United for over 20 years and is one of the most well-respected youth coaches in the game. Tony Carr and his staff developed all current English National Team players who graduated from the West Ham Academy. Tony and his staff will choose the boys and girls who may have 'what it takes' to play for him and his Academy teams back in East London. Those players identified at the National ID camp will be given a week-long try out in England with the West Ham United Academy.
    • The chance to compete in the West Ham International Academy Cup Tournament, playing against other West Ham United Affiliate clubs from across the country.
    • Opportunities for Arsenal FC staff coaches to supplement their coaching education through interaction with the West Ham United Academy coaches, including trips to England to spend more time understanding the philosophies of the 'West Ham Way'.
    • Access to Official West Ham United Academy Tours, with the chance to stay at the West Ham United Hotel in London. Arsenal FC teams may play games with local clubs, West Ham Academy teams, and possibly other professional Academies. Also, Arsenal FC members may have the opportunity to watch West Ham United’s professional team in action, as well as their top youth teams.
    • West Ham United Player Development Booklets for every Arsenal FC player.
